It's been a while!

Hello again :)

I hope you have all had a WONDERFUL Spring Break and you return rejuvenated and ready to take on the last marking period of your 6th grade year. Time is quickly passing by!

We'll be continuing with the Data About Us unit when we return. We'll explore in detail the summary statistics we use to analyze data sets. Before break, we started collecting some data about YOU and soon we'll be able to determine what's "typical" in 6th grade!

Let's Be Rational Unit Test

Don't forget our Unit Test is this Monday, February 2
The test will cover all fraction operations ( + , - , x , / ).

The HW review packet is a great study tool!

*Remember the first page is optional but you must complete all word problems on the second page, and #10, 12, 14, 16-20 on the back page. 

We'll be cleaning out our binders and starting a new unit, Variables & Patterns, this week.

Quarterly 2

Just a friendly reminder that the Math Quarterly 2 is this Monday, January 19th!

In addition to the review in class, you can use the resources in your binder to prepare for the assessment. Daily PODs and past assessments are a great question bank!

Tomorrow (Wednesday) in class we'll be taking a "walk in the PARCC" as we explore the different components and tools available on the standardized assessment.

Welcome back :) I hope you enjoyed the holidays and had a wonderful, relaxing, and rejuvenating winter break.

This week we'll begin a new unit called Let's Be Rational where the emphasis will be on fraction operations.You can find a summary of the important concepts here.

Friendly reminders:
- TenMarks assignments will continue to be due on Tuesdays, with the next assignment due 1/13.
- Math Quarterly 2 is on Monday, January 19th. A "Study Topics" list will be sent home this week.
- Math Counts Club with Ms. DiPaolo is always accepting new members. With "Pi Day" quickly approaching, now would be a great time to join. Listen to the announcements for the next meeting time!
